Whole Grain Yeast Biscuits
These biscuits have such a wonderful flavor and texture. Perfect as a side dish are used as a breakfast sandwich.
Prep Time 5 minutes minutes
- 2 cup flour I use freshly milled
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
- 3/4 cup milk
Mix flour and salt. Add olive oil and mix until crumbly.
Heat milk to lukewarm.
Add milk and yeast to flour mixture.
Mix well and turn onto a lightly floured surface.
Cut out biscuits and place on greased baking sheet or cast iron skillet.
Cover and allow to rise for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
