Date Honey

This syrup is scrumptious! Full of caramel flavor and sure to sweeten any of your dishes!

Equipment

  • 1 small saucepan
  • 1 Blender

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pitted dates
  • 1 1/2 cups water divided
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Add dates and 1 cup of the water to a small saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil over high heat.
  • Reduce heat to a simmer for at least 30 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool for at least 20 minutes.
  • Add vanilla and add to the blender.
  • Add the 1/2 cup of additional water and blend on high for 1 minute.
  • Add more or less extra water based upon how thin or thick you want the syrup.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 7-10 days.
